by Skitch Manion
Skitch began blowing glass when he was ten years old, and since then, he has been devoted to the material. He refined his skills while gaffing throughout the country. At the start of his career, he was instantly drawn to the craft’s significant history and technical challenge.
During his twenty years of experience, he has had the opportunity to work with maestros Pino Signoretto and Lino Tagliapietra, who he has long admired for their devotion and discipline in glassblowing. He aspires to be a resource as a skilled make and upholds the tradition of refined skills in glassblowing. He worked for ten years as the Studio Manager and Head Gaffer at John Pomp Studios, a furniture and lighting company based in Philadelphia, PA. Skitch joined the Wheaton Arts community in 2006 and became the Studio Manager from 2016 to 2021.
