Daniel Mackie is the artist behind The DM Collection. His animal watercolors are inspired by Japanese prints, the striking motifs of Art Deco and the Arts and Crafts Movement. The designs celebrate the harmonious accord between highly stylized forms and flowing lines of nature creating decorative art that lift the spirit and warm the heart.

Why does the dove represent peace? It probably stems from a series of Sumerian legends and poems about the mythological hero-king Gilgamesh in the 7th century BC. In one of these poems a dove and a raven are released to find land. Later in the Christian mythologies the dove appears in the Book of Genisis as a symbol and a tool of God. The dove plays a key role in the life of Noah. He releases a Dove during the great flood, she returns with a leaf in her mouth indicating that the flood waters had receded and she had found land.
