Kay Petronio is a graphic designer who has carried her love of designing children's books, into her work as a ceramic artist. Pattern, texture and color is incorporated into her clay work in a whimsical but sophisticated way.
Kay is an artist at the Clay Art Center in Port Chester, NY, and glazes and fires her work there. Many of her pieces are wheel thrown but she also enjoys hand building to achieve unique forms with texture. She works in both porcelain and brown stoneware, and her pieces are fired at cone 6 in an electric kiln.
