Alicia Goodwin has been creating jewelry since childhood, but it wasn’t until she was earning her degree at The State University of New York Fashion Institute of Technology that she realized that creating impactful work in metal was her true calling.
The work is inspired by nature, with a focus on ancient talismans, Victorian era work and mourning sentimental jewelry. Made of brass, silver and gold, extra care is given to these works. With nods to everything from markings on beetles to the texture on trees, Lingua Nigra is meant to evoke a timeless feeling that can be worn everyday.
The sister to their oh so popular Building a Ladder Earrings, these are made a little different, with not three, but two dangles on each earring. Carved in wax and lightweight for everyday wear.
