Bengt Hokanson and Trefny Dix collaborate in creating original glass art defined by vibrant colors, bold canework, and simple, organic forms. Their work has been influenced by everything from classic Italian glassblowing to world textiles and urban graffiti. These elements inspire each piece to be about action that is trapped for a moment in time. The simple forms suggest just enough movement to emphasize the drama of their saturated, luminescent colors.
The unique murrini pattern of the Black Glass Sail reveals a flash of color visible through each side. An opaque color wrap encircles the abstract pattern, framing the movement within. The artists' drew inspiration from sailboat spinnakers blowing in the wind.
