Natalie Blake's thrown porcelain vessels and hand-built plates are individually carved, glazed, and fired in her Brattleboro, Vermont, studio. The pieces have either smooth or striated surfaces. The urchin lids are hand-rolled ceramic porcelain tendrils with a metallic or colored glaze. Striking alone or in a set.
Natalie has been a professional ceramic artist since 1994. She earned a BFA in painting and ceramics from Kenyon College in 1992, and was a Thomas J. Watson fellow in ceramics, studying in Indonesia, Korea, India, and Nepal in 1993. She has created large-scale public ceramic murals, as well as many residential commissions, nationwide.
